Twist Band - August 2014

HELLO! I got my first twist band monthly box and if you don't know what a twist band is, you've been missing out.

Twist Band are elastic hair ties that are amazing. First because they don't leave those bumps in your hair like other elastics do and secondly because the come in cool designs and pretty colours. I got these three bands in my box.

I also got these six headbands which also come in great colours.

This box cost me $13 dollars and that includes shipping.

Wantable (make-up) - August 2014

I got my first Wantable box a few days ago and I'm pretty stoked about it. Wantable makes three different monthly boxes, one for make up, one for accessories and one that's intimates. I'll probably try all three eventually.

So I open my box and the first thing I see is that on the lid it says "packed especially for Nicole". I dunno about you but I think that's the coolest thing ever, and I feel special.

I four items in my box, a nail polish, one eye shadow, one eye line and a lip gloss. Let me break them down individually for you.

First up we have an eye shadow called Pearl X Shadow by Vincent Longo, its called Ombre Pearl Oeil X.

Looks pretty unique, and totally my colours. I should mention this is a full size product, everything in this box is. I swatched this on my hand, scroll to the bottom to see.

Next up we have eye cream hyper liner by Tarina Tarante, its waterproof and the colour is Ultra Violet. My first reaction was this was going to be a crazy bright purple, but when i opened up package its actually a really nice dark plum shade. This is also swatched on my hand below.

Now we have a nail polish by Nailtini, its called Mango Rita and its hard to tell from this picture but its got a cool sheem to it. This goes to straight to Caitlin, follow here here http://www.addicted-to-lacquer.com/

Last but not least I got a Geri G lip gloss, the colour is a light shade of brown with a little bit of orange in it. All of the lip glosses I have are mostly pink shades so its nice to try something I might not usually buy.

Going left to right we have, lip gloss, eye line and then the eye shadow.

That's a wrap, for my first Wantable box I'm impressed and I think its number one on my list so far.

Bark Box - August 2014

So I got my bark box today, or should I say my puppy Apollo did. Even though everything that comes in this box is all for my dog, I do look forward to getting it every month.

So this is my third box I've gotten, and every month I get two bags of different treats and two toys.

In this months box we got, a lobster water toy, a fetching ball, lobster roll treats and country oven biscuits.

Here is our little lobster, he's adorable! In our box we got a card that said this is a water toy and is best used in a river, lake or bath tub. It actually says its not recommended as a normal chewing toy. Apollo loves loves loves swimming so he will enjoy this guy big time.

Next we have Grandma Bower's country oven bisquits, cheese flavor. It says its like a granola bar for dogs. Wheat free, corn free and soy free, so that makes it extra healthy! Apollo taste tested these and have it two paws up.

This is a huge ball on a rope, it floats so its great for the water or just playing fetch at the dog park. Now my dog Apollo loves rope and he will chew this rope in half if I left this toy hanging around, we I'll keep it out of arms reach until our next outing.

More treats! These are lobster roll treats and have read lobster in them. They have parsley in them, great for fresh breath. They also have kelp in them, so we have another super healthy treat!

That's it for my August Bark Box

FabFitFun - Summer Box

Hey guys, so I got my FabFitFun box in the mail today and its a quarterly box. This one is season themed so the next one I would get will be fall. So because its quarterly its a bit more expensive, and for me (because it has to ship to Canada) cost me $56 dollars.

This box it pretty cool because its got a little bit of everything in it, you'll see soon! In my box I got a letter welcoming me to the FabFitFun family, which is a totally sweet gesture.

This is everything got, but don't worry I'm going to break it all down for you. I also got a detailed list of everything that comes in this box and some information of each item, which of course I will share.

First up is this mini clutch/make up bag from Thursday Friday. I think its adorable! It also comes up with long strap on it in case you wanted to use is as like a mini purse I guess. Two in one, I'm all up for that. I also got a $30 dollar gift card to use on the Thursday Friday website.

Next up we have a product called Sonya Dakar Flash Facial which is developed by Gwynth Paltrows famed facialist. According to the information that came with the product it says that in just 60 seconds it will make my face softer, plumber and younger looking. Can't wait to try this out and see how it really works. I'll let you guys know what I think of it in a few days.

Now we have No Frizz Oil from balanced guru, my hair doesn't have a lot of frizz but it does have fly aways and this product is suppose to work great for that. I'll let you guys know what I think of this product as well.

This is a fruit infuser for FabFitFun and for anyone who doesn't have a fruit infuser I can tell you they are great. I already have one but now I can take one with me to work. My favourite is lemons in mine.

This is a product that was on the Shark Tank, pretty cool! It's two different lip chap flavours from KISSTIXX. I got one sweet flavour and one sour, you get two "compatible flavours" in every box. Your suppose to give one lip chap to your partner and then you take the other one, then when you do some kissing it mixes the flavor. Sounds pretty cool, guess I have to go find a guy to try this product out with :P.

This is an anti-aging moisturizer from piu-lisse, it suppose to be super light weight and you can use it with or without make up. It also has SPF 30 which is always a bonus for the summer months.

Next we have a nail polish from Zoya which is going straight to Caitlin my BFF who does nail polish reviews.

In case you didn't know these are panty liners, never can have too many if these.

Next we got a little snack, POPchips. Sour cream & onion my favourite yum!

Shaving gel, to keep those legs smooth for summer! Now some people get upset when they get "drug store" products in boxes, but I just look at it like hey now I don't have to go buy shaving gel because we all know were going to use it.

This is a protein bar from slim fast bar which is called have your cake, if this tastes like cake I'm sold!

So that's everything I got for the FabFitFun Summer box, I plan on writing a follow up post on what I think on all the products. All of these things for $56 dollars, not bad in my opinion.

Julep Box - August 2014

So I got my Julep Box in the mail yesterday and that makes it the first box of the month for me.

I love Julep and that its always wrapped so pretty.

So in my box this month I got a gel eye glider in rich brown, two nail polished which are they same colour (India), we will get to that later. And a screen cleaner for my phone screen.

So this is my eye liner, I can't say I've ever worn a eye liner other than black, but that doesn't mean I'm not excited to try this. The card that came with this eye liner says it last for 10+ hours and its waterproof so that's always bonus.

So for some reason I got two of the same nail polishes this month, that's a first for me but I guess its happened to a lot of people this month. This colour is called India I really like it, I pretty much love any polish with any sort of simmer in it.

This is the other colour I should have gotten, I'm going to email the customer service and see if they can do anything for me.

I also got a screen cleaner which is surprisingly work really good, its sticky on one side so you keep it on your phone for when you need it.

That's a wrap for Julep Box- August 2014

Once Upon a Box

Hey guys, Nicole here and I've decided to start a blog on subscription boxes. I never though in a million years I would be creating a blog and being so excited about it at the same time. So I'll let you know how this crazy thought came to sight. First I should let you know I've had a monthly subscription to Julep for about a year now and also have a monthly bark box subscription only for the past few months. So about a week ago I saw a post on Facebook for an IPSY box, so I went and investigated to see what it was all about. When I googled it, it came up for reviews and that's where I found people write blogs/reviews just on subscription boxes. I thought this was the coolest thing ever and I needed to jump on board! So I started looking at different boxes and picked few to try, so now I just wait patiently for the mail man to drop off some gifts :)

That being said I got my Julep Box in the mail this morning so I'll post that this morning.
